Building Opportunity
At the MCN Build Foundation, we want to leave the world better than we found it. That means creating opportunities for children and adults who have been afforded fewer chances in life. We also believe that the best corporate philanthropy strategy is to offer what you are best at, which is why we BUILD.
The majority our work concentrates on education in the greater Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas and in select communities abroad. Our commitment must first be to the areas we work in, while also recognizing that our ability to scale by building state-of-the-art educational projects is most possible in developing nations.
In the DMV area, we complete construction projects for some of the leading local non-profits. This includes an annual commitment to the Make a Wish Foundation to build one project for a Wish Family. We also have renovated bathrooms, roofs and gardens for Bread for the City and Dreaming Out Loud.
We maintain that roughly 60% of our giving goes to the Greater DMV, Baltimore and USVI regions. All of the funds are contributed by MCN Build and our network of contractors and supporters. We also offer matching programs for employees to give to charities of their choice and average 1,000 volunteer hours per year. During the Holiday season, we donate over 1,000 turkeys to families in the region.

From 2021-2023 we paused our building initiatives to save the school year in Lebanon, purchasing the debt for over 5,000 families to continue their children’s education while keeping schools open and teachers paid.
